Phase I Re-opening Update

Taber Public Library will begin Phase I of our re-opening plan on June 23rd, 2020. 

Phase I Library Hours: Tuesday to Friday 10:00am-5:30pm

In Phase I you will be able to: Check out books, dvd’s audiobooks, cd’s,
magazines and newspapers. You can pre-order your materials 3 ways: The
preferred way is to place a HOLD in our catalogue. You can also send an email to You may also call 403-223-4343 to order items.
Please include your library card number title and author information with your
order. Staff will pull and package your order for pick up at the Circulation Desk. 

All returns should be placed in the outside Book Drop. Staff will not take returned materials at the desk. A 72 hour quarantine of returned materials is necessary to comply with Provincial re-opening guidelines.

Two computers will be available to reserve for 45 minutes per person per day.
a 15 minute cleaning and drying time is necessary between users. Email to request a booking. You will not be able to wait in the
library for your appointment so please book in advance and come to the library
no more than 5 minutes before your reserved time.

A hand sanitizer station is located at the front entrance. Please remember to use it
when entering or exiting the library. Hand sanitizer will also be available at the
booked computer stations.

Donations of new or used items to the library will be temporarily suspended until
such time as it is deemed safe to accept and process these items.

Payments: We ask that you use debit or credit cards for all payments to the
library. Cash will still be accepted if necessary.

Memberships: The library will be able to renew your library card or process new
memberships during this phase.

Public Washrooms will be restricted to emergency use for the time being.
A key can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.

Masks are not required to enter the library but are encouraged.

Food and drink in the library will not be permitted in Phase I

Clear signage to maintain physical distancing regulations will be installed at the
entrance and throughout the library. The number of people in the library will be
limited to comply with Provincial regulations. If there is a line up at the front door
we ask you to please wait outside maintaining a 2 metre distance from others
until it is clear to enter the library.

If you have any limitations or feel like you are not ready to re-enter the
library at this time please call 403-223-4343 to schedule your pick up
and staff will bring your materials out to your vehicle.

We appreciate your patience during this transition time. We will be monitoring all
provincial information and will move to Phase II of our re-opening plan as soon
as it is deemed safe to do so.
