Please join us for this fascinating discussion about a relatively unknown part of the world.

What we know about Afghanistan is dominated by images from the evening news.  However, that is only a part of the story and there is tremendous change and hope that is mixed with the struggles the country faces daily.  Our discussion will provide a broader context to what is going on in Afghanistan and we’ll also examine some of the strategies to alleviate poverty and hopefully bring peace to this region… including the impact of literacy program.  Please join us for this fascinating discussion about a relatively unknown part of the world.


We’re delighted to welcome as our guest southern Alberta native Kelly Brantner.

Kelly Brantner is the Global CEO of a private foundation called Business for Better Society (BBS).  BBS helps create collaborative partnerships between non-profits and corporations as well as individuals to create meaningful change at a grassroots level.

BBS currently  has projects operating in Cambodia, Laos, Uganda, Indonesia, Thailand as well as other locations.

Originally from Wrentham, Kelly has been living for the past 13 years in Beijing where she currently splits her time between China, the UK and Canada.
